What is Clearanail ? Clearanail is a treatment that uses a computer controlled device to make tiny holes through the nail plate. The procedure is completely safe, virtually pain free, providing fast and effective results. It produces micro holes (0.4mm in diameter) through the nail without damaging the skin beneath. The hole allow accurate testing and effective treatment of the infection. The topical solution can pass through the holes to reach the infection. What to expect from Clearanail treatment ? The Podiatrist may carry out some nail debridement (gentle filing and cleaning) in order to prepare your nails for the use of the Clearanail device. They will then drill tiny holes through the nail plate, using the computer controlled device. A terbinafine 1% solution is applied to the nails (solution supplied to patient to self administer daily). A review in 8/16 weeks is needed.
